A Special Thank You To The Church Family

By Reverend Frazier

Greetings Church Family,
You are amazing! We had a fabulous February because of your love and support. Our Valentine’s Day Love Feast was everything I had hoped for and more.
The presence of God’s Spirit, your presence and participation, and the elaboratehall décor deeply touched my heart. It was an awesome pleasure and honor torenew the vows of twelve lovely couples, to hear the wonderful love expressionsand pray for soul mates for our single church members (including myself). I also had fun dancing. Thanks to everyone who helped make it a memorable event.Special thanks to Carl and Kathie Uebel, who served as the co-event planners.
On February 23rd we participated in our Sonoma County Circuit event,“What’s the Buzz” Imagine No Malaria event with seven churches. We had a great time in the LORD with our District Superintendent Rev. Schulyer Rhodes and with our sisters and brothers in our Circuit. It was a beautiful sight to see our church
members participating in all facets of the event and in the audience praising the LORD. Thanks to everyone who participated in the event. Special thanks to Michael Stanford and Kelly Vaughan for being on the planning committee.
Well, as we continue to be blessed because of our gatherings in February, let us look forward to March, as the season of Lent begins. According to the United Methodist Book of Worship, “Lent is a season of forty days, not counting Sundays, which begins on Ash Wednesday (March 5) and ends on Holy Saturday (April 19).
Lent comes from the Anglo-Saxon word lencten, which means, “spring.” The season is a preparation for celebrating Easter. Historically, Lent began as a period of fasting and preparation for baptism by converts and then became a time of penance all Christians.” This year we are engaging in the Lenten season with our Sonoma County Circuit as a part of our effort to raise awareness about malaria. Our engagement includes a Circuit Lenten Devotional titled: “THRIVE! LIVING THE LIFE”, which contains devotionals that seven of our church family members wrote. Thanks to Katherine Best-Smith, Bobbie Fortunati, Ginger Minnich, Mike Mortensson, Irene Stewart, Carl Uebel and Kelly Vaughan for your work.
I really, really, appreciate, church family, your participation and support. May the LORD continue to bless and keep us as we continue to use our gifts and graces to transform our community and the world.

With Love,
Pastor Rochelle
