“For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the LORD, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11 (NRSV).
I hope your Christmas was a special time with your families and friends. Thank you for making my Christmas extra special. I really appreciate and am very thankful for my Christmas cards and very generous gifts. Your kindness and gracious generosity deeply touched and blessed my heart.
As the year comes to a close, let us be thankful for all of the blessings God bestowed upon us in 2013. We were able to accomplish many of our goals and objectives, engage in powerful worship, grow in spiritual formation and continue to serve our community.
Building on the grace afforded to us in 2013, I believe God will continue to provide what we need for further growth as disciples of Jesus the Christ and give us the strength to continue to be a blessing to humanity. As we anticipate celebrating 130 years of ministry to the Forestville community and beyond, let us be bold in our planning and in the execution of our efforts. I believe God will empower and guide us through the Holy Spirit to assure this year will be exciting and memorable in ways we have not yet thought of. God is able to do “exceedingly and abundantly above all that we ask or imagine.”
As the Scripture states, God has a plan to give us a “future and a hope.” He gave the believers 130 years ago a plan with a “future and a hope.” Let us share this good news with others as we reach out to the community inviting them to come and celebrate with us what the God of hope has done in West Sonoma County.
Jesus came into the world to give humanity hope. Christmas reminds us of the hope we have from knowing Him. Regardless of what is occurring in our lives, we must always remember that God has a plan and purpose for us, a solution to every problem and an answer to all of our questions.
As we begin this New Year, let us seek and invite the LORD to reveal what He has in store for us in 2014. Let us look forward to a future full of promise and grace. Let us look forward to celebrating 130 years of ministry in Forestville and West Sonoma County. “130 years and counting….”Let the celebration begin!
With love, in Christ,
