Earth Keepers

By Irene Stewart

Both those who believe in a literal Creation Myth and those who accept the evidence of evolution can find common ground in the need to preserve and care for as much as we can of the natural world which sustains us all. Even if one feels that this Earth is a very temporary stop enroute to heaven, human beings suffer when we are reckless tenants. The household of faith does not inflict hurt on others, not to mention that anything God has made and sustains commands our humble, careful respect.
Worthwhile outdoor hints from TV sources:
A local TV weatherman recommends, “If
you hear thunder, get the kids inside.”
And after the terrible Nepal earthquakes
comes a reminder to have a pair of shoes by your bedside should a night time earthquake leave broken glass on the floor.
