Jesus IS the Reason for the Season; Let us be Reminded of the Miracle Birth of our Savior this Christmas

By Pastor Rochelle

Hello Beloved,

Have your heard the saying “Jesus is the reason for the season?” Well, Jesus IS the reason for the season. Let us be reminded of the miracle birth of our Savior by reading the following Scripture passages from the book of Luke:

In that region there were shepherds living in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. Then an angel of the LORD stood before them, and the glory of the LORD shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for see—I am bringing you good news of great joy for all the people; to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you; you will find a child wrapped in bands of cloth and lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God and saying, Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace among those whom he favors!” Luke 2: 8-14

The Advent and Christmas seasons are about the birth of Jesus, the Messiah. Messiah means the “chosen” one. Jesus was chosen to be the reason for hope, for peace, for love, for joy and for salvation. We all need hope in our lives, especially in times of doubt and confusion. We need to be able to experience a peace that passes all understanding, giving us the calm needed to deal with the circumstances in our lives.

We need unconditional love for our souls and to share love with others. We really need joy in our lives, which is our healing balm. We all need salvation to be saved from ourselves, saved from trouble, saved from grief, and saved from heartache. Thanks be to God for the birth of Jesus the Christ! Have you shared with anyone lately about the story of Jesus and what it means to you? Please share with someone this Christmas season the five virtues listed above that we are blessed with because of Jesus. It will really change their lives.

Please have an awesome Advent and Christmas Season!!

With love,
Pastor Rochelle
