The Advent and Christmas seasons are about the birth of Jesus, the Messiah. Messiah means the “chosen” one. Jesus was chosen to be the reason for hope, for peace, for love, for joy and for salvation. We all need hope in our lives, especially in times of doubt and confusion. We need to be able to experience a peace that passes all understanding, giving us the calm needed to deal with the circumstances in our lives.

Our theme for this month is thanksgiving. I hope we all realize that we have much to be thankful for. I am thankful for our relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Through faith, we have this wonderful opportunity to know God personally and intimately.

Don’t be misled: No one makes a fool of God. What a person plants, he will harvest. …..But the one who plants in response to God, letting God’s Spirit do the growth work in him, harvests a crop of real life, eternal life. Galatians 6:7a, c (The Message)
